Gilfach Wen Barn is a large holiday let / bunkhouse with 7 family size bedrooms. containing between them 10 double and 12 single beds. There is a large lounge with games area, dining room, fully equipped kitchen, drying room, and under cover BBQ area as well as a fire pit in the garden and a fenced area for guests with their dogs. For larger groups there is also space for camping.
Designed to provide comfortable robust accommodation for exclusive use by a range of groups:- extended families, walking groups, mountain bike and cycling clubs, horse riders, team building events, trips that include a visit to worship at Skanda Vale, Church groups, youth groups or groups of friends planning a reunion or celebration, Stag Group or Hen party.
In addition to being popular with groups visiting Brechfa Forest or Llanllwni Mountain in Carmarthenshire. The property makes an ideal base for large sociable groups who wish to explore all of South West Wales, including the Brecon Beacons National Park, Cambrian Mountains, Carmarthenshire, Pembrokeshire, Gower, Ceredigion.
This style of property is known as a bunkhouse. – It is a robust holiday cottage, with comfortable furniture designed for groups on a budget. It is a bunkhouse because some bedrooms have bunk beds in them.

Brechfa Forest and Llanllwni Mountain form the south western end of the Cambrian Mountain Range an Area of Astounding Natural Beauty. I am chair of the tourism cluster group for Brechfa Forest and Llanllwni Mountain a group of volunteers who work together on projects to support a strong sustainable local economy linked to recreational use of our forest and mountain.
Gilfach Wen Barn is just outside the boundary of the Brecon Beacons National Park but falls within “the area of economic benefit”. I was the trade representative for the bunkhouse industry on the forum for developing the sustainable tourism strategy for the BBNP.
